Nigerian female student studying in Ghana goes missing while on her way back to Nigeria


 According to family sources, beautiful Hafsat Oshilalu, a law undergraduate at Zenith University College in Ghana, she has been missing for three days now. Hafsat was on her way back to Nigeria for the Christmas holiday when she went missing. She was traveling back by road.

NCWS "90% of female prisoners in Nigeria are pregnant or nursing mothers"


Recently National Council of Women's Society (NCWS) say that over 90% of female prisoners in the country were either pregnant or nursing mothers. The society’s president, Mrs. Gloria Shoda, disclosed this on Tuesday, December 13th, during the inauguration of new executives in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Onnoghen will be swear in by President Buhari as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria today


Today at about 2pm at the state house Abuja, President Buhari will swear in acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Nkanu Onnoghen. ‎This follows the retirement of the current CJN, Justice Mahmud Muhammed, who will officially retire today having attained the retirement age of ‎70.

The National Judicial Council had on October 5th forwarded Justice Onnoghen name to President Buhari as Muhammed's replacement.

How Fighting Corruption Led to Mother's Abduction - Iweala


In a recent interview with French newspaper, Le Monde, former Minister for Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said her fight against the fraud being carried out through the subsidy regime while she was minister, led to the kidnap of her 83 years old mother. 

Okonjo-Iweala said she had asked former President Goodluck Jonathan to remove the subsidy regime after the massive corruption in it was uncovered.

Minimum Wage: Labour To Go Ahead with Strike


Even with the affirmation by the 36 states governors of their readiness to pay the N18,000 minimum wage prescribed by the recently amended National Minimum Wage Act, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Sunday insisted that it would go on with its planned three-day warning strike.
The strike to protest governments' and private employers' unwillingness to abide by the provisions of the revised National Minimum Wage Act will begin on Wednesday, July 20. It is expected to usher in an indefinite and total strike in the event of government's continued failure to implement the provisions of the Act.www.mannastores.com
