Owner of Bovina Hotel in
Ilorin, Kwara State, Boniface Ifeanyi Okoli, was on Monday April 4th kidnapped
by gunmen in army uniform. According to his family members, Okoli who runs a
chain of shops in the town, was abducted in one of his shops along Ibrahim
Taiwo Road, Ilorin between 6pm and 7pm.
While commenting on the
incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula, said three suspects
have been arrested.
“We were told that the
men were in army uniform and in a Camry car. I heard that this is the third
time, they are attempting to kidnap the man. We will try and go after these
people and make sure that we rescue him. He was abducted between 6pm and 7pm on
Monday. We got the information late. The police got the information one hour
after the incident. As at now, we have three suspects in our cell. They were
picked at the hotel (Bovina). There are indications that they have connection
with the kidnappers, working with them. We are after the criminals. They were
found in the hotel, they were within that vicinity when the incident happened.
Because of their conduct, police suspected them and they are being interrogated
now” he said.
