Rivers Re-run: Amaechi came noisily, left quietly — Wike
Rivers state
governor, Nyesom Wike, yesterday March 22nd, said his predecessor who is now
Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, was disgraced during the rerun
elections held in the state over the weekend as he, Amaechi, came in noisily
but left the state quietly as the results from the election showed the people
were for PDP and not for Amaechi's APC. Wike said this while addressing
his party faithfuls at the government house.
“Amaechi plot to rig the
rerun elections was for him to rubbish the Supreme Court Judgement. He came
back to the state noisily, but left quietly and shamefully. No Army is stronger
than the people. No police is stronger than our people. How many times will
they cancel elections for the APC. Amaechi is not on ground in Rivers State.
Those who were overzealous during the rerun elections did so without the
knowledge of the president“he said
