The fear of bomb explosion has caused a shift in the venue of this year’s Call to the Bar programme of the Nigerian Law School in Abuja from Bwari to the International Conference Centre (ICC).
Mr Chinedu Ukekwe, the Head of Information, Nigerian Law School, Bwari, confirmed that the venue of the ceremony had been changed from the school to ICC in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
He said the change of venue was initiated by the management of the school to ensure the security of lives.
Ukekwe noted that "there are many porous gardens within the premises of the school and such gardens could deter security."
He added that the Call to Bar programmes had always been in Bwari "but the issue of insecurity in the country has changed the location."
The head of information said that the level of insecurity in the country was a thing of major concern to every citizen.
Sources from the school further said that the school got information from unknown persons suspected to be agents of the notorious Boko Haram sect that they would attack the school.
The Call to the Bar programme is scheduled to take place on Oct. 5 at the ICC.www.mannastores.com
