Kenny Rogers' former estate on sale for $20 million

Singer Kenny Rogers and his wife Wanda Miller
From one country man to another.
What was once country singer Kenny Rogers‘ palatial country estate in Athens, GA was sold in 2003 to Wes Adams, a wealthy rancher and real estate investor. Adams passed away in February and the over-the-top 973-acre estate, titled Beaver Dam Farms,  is on the market again for a hefty $20 million — a price that’s over 100 times more than current median Athens home prices.
Situated in the heart of Georgia, Rogers designed and built the estate to host his family and entertain celebrity friends, sparing absolutely nothing in constructing the mammoth property.www.mannastores.com

A quick run-down in numbers on the overall size of Rogers’ former home:
  • Main house size: 12,000 square feet
  • Equestrian facility size: 9,000 square feet
  • Six-bedroom guest home: 4,000 square feet
  • Four-bedroom guest home: 2,600 square feet
  • One-bedroom guest home: 1,000 square feet
  • Golf course clubhouse: 8,000 square feet
  • Lake house: 1,022 square feet
  • Number of guest homes: 6
  • Total number of bedrooms on the property: 20
  • Number of holes on the private golf course: 18
  • Number of lakes: 3
These numbers don’t include the two gyms, two pools as well as the movie theater, billiards room, conference center and tennis courts.
Rogers has a habit of buying homes and putting them back on the real estate market within a few years. According to the Wall Street Journal, his most recent real estate endeavor was selling an Atlanta mansion in 2008 — the 10th house the singer has fixed up and put back on the market.
When Rogers sold Beaver Dam Farms to the Adams’ family, he left most of the furnishings and finishes; most of the interior decor still remains today.
For a few years Beaver Dam Farms operated as it did when it was owned by Rogers: a private family retreat and home. After a few years, Adams turned it into an inclusive resort with full accommodations, spa services and event rentals, running it in a similar fashion to his dude ranch, The Motherwell, in Colorado.

  1. That would be something like my dream house. Wish I had that much money to buy property like it. What a fine piece of architecture it is.
