Many Americans may be struggling, but happy days are here again for some CEOs.
A new study commissioned by the Wall Street Journal found that pay for the leaders of the biggest U.S. companies jumped sharply last year. Factoring in salary, bonuses, and long-term incentives, here are the five corporate chieftains who made out best last year, along with their total pre-tax compensation:
Philippe Dauman, Viacom: $84.3 million
Lawrence Ellison, Oracle: $68.6 million
Leslie Moonves, CBS: $53.9 million
Martin E. Franklin, Jarden: $45.2 million
Michael White, DirecTV: $32.6 million
For everyone else, of course, wage growth stayed pretty flat -- dragged down by continuing high unemployment. God help Nigeria - www.mannamart.com
