The wife of Nigeria’s President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, on Sunday,
left for Addis Ababa, enroute London, United Kingdom, where her husband is on
medical vacation. She is making a second visit to her husband since the
President returned to London in May 2017 for follow up treatment over an
unknown ailment.
Her visit is coming a few days after the Ekiti state
governor, Ayodele Fayose claimed that the president was put on life support, as
his condition had deteriorated. His stand was further supported by a former minister of
Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who lambasted the governor of Imo State, Rochas
Okorocha for disagreeing with Fayose over Buhari’s health.
A statement signed by Mrs. Buhari’s Director of
Information, Suleiman Haruna, said that she would convey to President Buhari
the best wishes of Nigerians and their fervent prayers for his quick recovery. The statement further disclosed that Mrs. Buhari was expected
to stop over at Addis Ababa, to make a symbolic appearance at the meeting of
the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA).
“She will join other members to celebrate the 15th
anniversary of the organization, and use the opportunity to reiterate the
voting rights of Nigeria in the upcoming elections of the organization. “She will continue her journey to the United Kingdom on Monday, 3rd July, 2017,” .
