T.I : Rapper T I's lawyer confirms prison release date

Contrary to recent reports, incarcerated rapper T.I. will not be released from an Arizona prison today Aug. 31.2011.
     The Atlanta rapper's associate and longtime DJ, DJ Drama tweeted a coded message yesterday , that seemed to corroborate the rumors regarding the Grand Hustle boss' early release. However, according to T.I.'s lawyer, Jonathan Leonard, who has represented the frequently incarcerated MC since 2002, T.I.'s Sept. 29 release date has not changed.

"The Bureau of Prisons  won't give you the information of his release until the very last minute," Leonard told XXL. 

    T.I. is currently housed in Forrest City Federal Prison in Arkansas, serving out an 11-month sentence for violating his parole back in September 2010, when he tested positive for ecstasy.

Kate Henshaw, Jim Iyke comment on being dropped as Glo Ambassadors

News filtered out a few weeks ago that Globacom has dropped Kate Henshaw-Nuttal and Jim Iyke as their brand ambassadors, but the two say they are not aware of the new development. Kate had no comment on the matter when approached by journalists, Jim Iyke said he only heard it in the news, that they've not been officially notified.

So basically what happened was that Glo released the names of their ambassadors to the press and in the list, Sunny Neji, Kate and Jim Iyke's names were missing and new names were added. 14 feared killed, 50 vehicles burnt in fresh violence in Jos

At least fourteen people are reported dead as fresh violence broke out in Jos, Plateau State capital Monday afternoon.

Trouble started early in the morning when some members of a Muslim group went for Eid el Fitri prayers at a mosque in Gada Biu area of the town and were resisted by Christians living in the area.
By Mid-day, the skirmishes had spread to Dogon Karfe, Massalachin Juma and Unity Junction areas of the town.

While security sources are yet to confirm the number of casualties, early reports indicate at least four people were fatally shot by operatives of the security task force in the town at Unity Junction. More than 50 vehicles and 100 motorcycles were also burnt. - 234next.com www.mannastores.com

Gaddafi 'seen in Mugabe's private jet' in Zimbabwe

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has fled Libya to Zimbabwe on a jet provided by Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, it was claimed today, as rebels began the march on his home town.

President Mugabe's political opponents claim their spies saw Gaddafi arrive in the country on a Zimbabwe Air Force jet in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

They say the Libyan dictator was taken to a mansion in Harare's Gunninghill suburb, where agents from his all-female bodyguard were apparently seen patrolling the grounds.

'There's no doubt that Gaddafi is here as a 'unique guest' of Mugabe,' a spokesman for Zimbabwe's opposition Movement for Democratic Change told the Sun.

FBI takes over investigations, sidelines Police, SSS

OPERATIVES of the United States’ domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, have taken over the investigations of Friday’s bombing of the UN building in Abuja.

Sources told THE PUNCH that the FBI agents probing the bombing had sidelined investigators from the Nigeria Police and the State Security Service.

A source in one of the security agencies, who requested anonymity, said the takeover had the support of the Federal Government. Bomb explodes at ex-minister‘s house

A bomb exploded on Sunday night at the home of a former Minister of Police Affairs, Yakubu Lame, in GRA Bauchi, the Bauchi State capital (North-East Nigeria).

 the bomb was planted by two men who rode on a motorcycle to the ex-minister‘s house around 7.30pm. Upon getting there, one of them in white attempted to sneak into the compound to plant the bomb.

He was, however, accosted by a securityman at the house and fled with a bag. As he jumped on the waiting motorcycle, he threw the bag at the fence of the house, triggering an explosion.www.mannastores.com

Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State and the Vice-Chancellor of University of Calabar, Prof. James Epoke, have condemned last Saturdays’ student’s violent demonstration, describing it as unprecedented in the history of the university.   Students of University of Calabar, over the weekend, went on rampage destroying over 500 cars and vandalising buildings as well as looting valuable equipment worth hundreds of million of naira.

The rampage was said to have been sparked off by an alleged armed robbery attack on one of the students’ hostels at Malabo at about 11:00pm, leading to the death of one of the students . www.mannastores.com

A bizarre photograph album filled page to page with pictures of Condoleezza Rice has been found at the compound of Colonel Gaddafi after it was seized by rebels, who ransacked the lair.

Colonel Gaddafi had previously hinted at a serious admiration for Miss Rice. In an interview with Al-Jazeera television in 2007, he said at the time: 

'I support my darling black African woman. I admire and am very proud of the way she leans back and gives orders to the Arab leaders. ... Leezza, Leezza, Leezza. ... I love her very much. I admire her, and I'm proud of her, because she's a black woman of African origin.'

Two fraudsters who convinced a pensioner she had won a £5.7m lottery jackpot before conning her out of her life-savings were jailed for a total of 50 months today.

Joshua Obasuyi, 49, and Julius Oweka, 48, were part of a Nigerian gang who tricked U.S. Professor Marie Lowery, 80, a retired lecturer at the University of Houston, Texas, into handing over £245,000.
